We're In Deltaville, VA

We arrived here in Deltaville two weeks ago this coming Sunday. We then drove to Rochester, NY for a week visit with our Children and Grandchildren. I think it's time to relax but that won't happen we both are starting to work. It's been a long journey but we are finally stopping for a break.

It's been difficult getting an Internet connection so it's been a long time since I updated the blog. I will keep things up to date periodically during the Summer.

The picture of the freighter is one I took coming out of Norfolk, Va. We passed him as he was being towed out the water way by two tugs and he passed us once he was under way on his own power. You realize how big they are once you have the opportunity to get up close and personal with them.

It's rare to get a picture of a lighthouse with it's light. The light rotates around to give a flash for warning boats of a shoal or out cropping of land. I felt privileged to get this shot of the light house in Hampton Roads, VA as we entered the Chesapeake at dawn.

This was sunrise as we entered the Chesapeake for our days journey to Deltaville. It was not going to be a long trip but the weather was to turn for the worse later in the day. We were glad we left so early because the weather didn't wait for afternoon. We were seeing 30 knot winds around 10:30 AM. We were both glad to be docked before the worst of it hit. Fortunately it only lasted until evening.
