Back hone in DC!

We spent Friday night at anchor in St Clements Bay.

A front moved in during the night and brought with it some wind and much cooler temperatures. The wind also produced some small waves over the water. The winds were not in the direction we needed so again we were power boaters. Other than the fact we had multiple layers of clothing on it was not an uncomfortable day on the water.

We thought we might anchor out again and continue home on Sunday. The tide and current were with us almost all the way up the river so we decided to continue on to our dock at Capital Yacht Club. It was around 8:30 when we arrived. It was interesting navigating on the river in the dark. There is a considerable amount of water traffic at night especially tour boats. They were easy to see it was all the small craft with little or no lights. We made it safely and were happy to back at our slip.

The picture is of the sunset as we cruised up the Potomac. The sky made for an interesting canvas all day. I took several shots especially of the rainbow around the sun.
