Finished Erie Canal

This is us finishing up the Flight of Five, the last locks on the Erie Canal at Waterford, NY. The experience of traveling the Canal and locking through 30 locks was incrediable.

Waterford is where the Erie Canal and the Hudson River intersect. The next morning we enter the Hudson to finish our last lock, the Federal Lock. The only lock maintained by the Army Corp of Engineers. The Erie Canal locks are maintained and operated by the NYS Thruway Authority.
