Galewinds at NYC

We arrived in NYC and spent the evening anchored out behind the Statue of Liberty at Liberty Park in New Jersey. Motoring through the harbor of NYC was interesting and busy with all kinds of commercial vessels. It was quite a different perspective from the water.

Before getting to NYC we had spent a night at the Haverstaw Marina. Haverstraw is my (Larry) home town where I grew up and graduated high school.

The day after Haverstraw, we spent 2 nights in Nyack at the Hook Mountain YC. Another storm with high winds! We were on a morring and rowing the dingy to shore was challanging in the wind and high waves. Nyack is the home town for my father, Chick Hodge.
