Hunter Rendezvous

It's been close to a month since our return to Lake Ontario and we have been very busy. It took us most of the first two weeks to sort through what was stored in the truck and decide what we still wanted to keep and use on the boat. The process is complete we think and a garage sale is planned. We decided if it is to be stored it isn't good for us.

We have been on the move for one week cruising with friends to Toronto Canada for the Hunter Rendezvous. It was a great weekend and good to see friends that we haven't seen since last year. Angus Yachts out of Port Credit out did themselves once again. The speakers, food and fun were awesome. The number of boats and Hunter owners that attend keep increasing each year due to the outstanding hosts Angus Yachts. We are now the largest Hunter Rendezvous on the East coast.

The photo is of the Toronto Sky Line with Kingfisher II (Monica and Tony on Hunter 44) and Water Colors (Ken and Ruth on Hunter 33) traveling to Port Credit completely under sail. Larry and I have enjoyed sailing on this weeks adventure. We have stayed behind while other Hunter owners left yesterday because of getting our auto helm working properly by Ted of Angus Yachts. It is raining today but if it clears we will start heading back to NY.

(LCH) I figured I would add to Gail's post today to answer some questions that many people ask me concerning the trip back to Lake Ontario. We covered 3818 nm on the trip down to Key West and back. We ran the engine 843.5 hours over the course of the trip which is 2 hours less than what we had put on the engine over the previous 10 years. It took us 8 weeks to return from Dinner Key Florida to Oak Orchard NY. We could have done the trip in 6 weeks had we not stopped to get work done in Deltaville and Rochester and had the weather cooperated.

Tomorrow we head back across Lake Ontario. I plan to install a wind generator by the weekend. It had arrived at Jen's house while we were in Toronto. I also plan to do a little more work on the plumbing on the boat. We have the stuff I need to put a bypass on the waterpump so I can fill my watertank from the city water inlet I installed last week. Once I finish those 2 jobs, I will go back to figuring out what I want to complete next before we return south. It is much easier to do jobs on the boat when I have a home base with a truck to pickup the items I need.
