Many days have passed since my last journal entry into this blog and many events have also happened. It's hard to know where to start. When we arrived here in Deltaville it was with excitement for both of us on our new jobs and new friends to meet and visits with family.
Much has happened. The restaurant Larry was working on in Urbana finally opened and the food gets great reviews. We were treated to dinner on opening night and have been back for lunch since. Larry and I were glad for him to be back at the marina. We didn't see much of each other when he was up in Urbana now we get to do lunch together again. When you live on a boat and see each other 24 x 7 you tend to miss one another when you don't. Very different when we worked full time and had a house.
I quit my job over the 4 th of July, it wasn't what I had pictured it would be. The nice thing about being retired is if you go to work and it isn't fun you can quit. One would think working in a Tiki bar setting would be fun but don't let the exterior fool you. It has taken me quite some time to get over the experience and I don't care to repeat in in the future. My experience in Marathon at Castaways was quite different and I'm looking forward to returning in the Fall.
Our daughter Jennifer and grandsons Jonathan and Joseph visited us for two weeks. You can see by the photo at the top of the page they have grown some since our vacation last year. We had a great time but it went by fast as it does when we are having fun. Jonathan learned to Captain the dinghy and Joseph learned to swim by himself without a float. They also learned to crab and had fun fishing and swimming in the pool. Their Mom got a great tan and relaxed and rested. Joseph also learned to ride his bike without training wheels when he got home. I guess going to Kindergarten causes a child to grow up quick. I drove them back to NY and got to visit with our son Dan and granddaughter Kira. Larry stayed behind, he now works every other weekend, one of the weekend dock masters got called back out of retirement. This has changed our schedule a bit but with me not working it works for us.
This weekend I'm taking the Amtrak train to Connecticut to visit our daughter Patience. I'm looking forward to the experience and visit. I have only ridden the train one other time and that was many years ago. I don't know how I would have fit work in if I had like it at CoCoMo's. All things work out for a reason.
